Prove Your Worth was the theme to the 2008 Lotus Awards. Usually people do this by attempting to win a Lotus Award, but we wanted to further engage the BC advertising community. So we created a stock market. But, instead of listing companies on the Lotus Stock Exchange, we listed people. Every person who submitted work to the show was turned into a stock. Their value was based on their previous five years performance. Then we challenged everyone to predict the 2008 winners by creating a stock portfolio of their peers. To guide investors, we also created a character named Stephen Howard, Creative Analyst. His weekly Report on Creative video episodes shared investment strategies and insider tips to help investors create the portfolio with the most gains. In the eight weeks leading up to awards night, over 70% of show attendees created a portfolio on the LSX in an attempt to win.
